Choose female led brands. Create gender equality.

Femeconomy educates consumers, budget owners and business owners on how purchasing decisions can create gender equality.

Femeconomy approved brands have at least 30% of women on the Board of Directors or are 50% female owned. So far over 850 brands meet that criteria. Femeconomy encourages people to use their purse power or procurement power to support these companies.

Companies with female leaders are more likely to have workplace flexibility and less likely to have a gender pay gap, so they are helping to create gender equality for their employees and communities.

Femeconomy has been recognised as being a subject of social, political, cultural or economic significance. As a result, Femeconomy’s website has been added to the Australian National Web Archive and the website content can be accessed by the public globally in perpetuity.

Great moments in history that have helped to create gender equality.

Just 1% of procurement contracts go to women owned businesses. You too can make history with your purchasing power.

Thanks to Bec Brideson, Venus Comms and her team of creatives for this incredible clip of changemakers.

Femeconomy TEDxTalk

When the global consumer economy is valued at $35 trillion, women’s spending accounts for $28 trillion. This Purse Power is bigger than the emerging economies of China and India put together, twice over. By purchasing from brands with female leaders, you can use your own Purse Power to enhance gender equality. $28 trillion is a lot of bargaining power.

Gender equality won’t be achieved for another 216 years, so your grandchildren’s children won’t see gender equality in their lifetime. Alanna Bastin-Byrne and Jade Collins (pictured below) are sisters-in-law mobilising the female economy to create gender equality by supporting brands with at least 30% women on the Board of Directors, or 50% female owned. So, whether you are a woman in the US workforce, in the markets of Pakistan or a European business owner, choose female led brands to create a more equal society for women and men. #femeconomy
