Australian Women in Resources Alliance

The Australian Women in Resources Alliance (AWRA) is a national workforce gender diversity initiative delivered by Australia’s resource industry employer group, AMMA. AWRA offers support services to individuals, such as the free AWRA e-Mentoring Program, as well as organisational assistance.

About AWRA

AWRA’s charter is to assist employers on their gender diversity journey with the overarching goal to increase women’s participation in the resources, allied and related construction sectors to 25% by 2020, thus delivering a diverse mix of skills and talent to drive productivity and innovation.

AWRA facilitates programs and provides support and guidance materials that help employers attract, retain and develop female talent, build their gender diversity capability, become an employer of choice for women and realise the advantages of a gender diverse workforce.

Through a range of support programs, AWRA can help your organisation to navigate the challenges of workforce diversity to achieve positive outcomes. Contact us today to find out how we can assist.

The AWRA e-Mentoring Program

AWRA facilitates a number of programs including the free AWRA e-mentoring Program. This program has been running since 2013 and has paired over 200 mentors and mentees in this time. The program provides a unique professional development opportunity for female mentees, and male and female mentors.

For women in male dominated industries, remote locations, complex rosters and a shortage of female colleagues has created a need for an alternative to traditional face-to-face mentoring programs. e-Mentoring gives mentees and mentors a way to work together, wherever they are, and fits in with their busy working lives.

Man or woman, if your career experience means you have something to offer those looking for guidance and insight from the experts, sign up to AWRA e-Mentoring as a mentor and provide aspiring women with a boost to their careers.

Contact the team to find out more information or express your interest in being a mentee or mentor today.
