The opportunity at AIA

Join the Retail Claims team at AIA Australia, in this finance focused role as a Financial Specialist who assess financial documentation related to life insurance claims. Reporting directly to the Claims Team Leader you will be qualified Financial Accountant and be responsible for coaching and mentoring our Claims Assessors and providing them guidance and support on the financial aspects of claims assessment on a day to day basis.

Working collaboratively with the Team Leader you will highlight any capability or knowledge gaps and ensure Claims Assessors are receiving adequate up-skilling and development to be able to perform their duties as required from a financial perspective.

Skills and Experience required

To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in accounting or a proven audit background. An understanding of claims management models and practices is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be comfortable to discuss financial matters with claimants, advisors and our reassurance partners as well as analyse data and make recommendations on claim decisions. You will be an articulate communicator and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and pragmatic problem solving skills to drive clarity of requirements in a complex environment.
