About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior HR/IR Advisor to join Laing O’Rourke in Melbourne, VIC. In this role you will provide operational and strategic human resources and industrial relations support to our national Rail Operations business. You will partner with our General Manager of Rail Operations to support employee relations, industrial relations, audit and compliance, reporting, learning and development and employee lifecycle services. This permanent role offers great career prospects with a privately owned tier 1 constructor and an international engineering enterprise.
Provide HR and ER/IR advice to staff, blue and white collar, and managers across our rail operations business. Develop HR/IR risk mitigation strategies, deliver IR compliance and assist with enterprise bargaining. Manage HR processes and implement company policies, practices and initiatives. Conduct workplace investigations, and support performance management and disciplinary processes. Provide remuneration advice and assist with our annual salary review process. Facilitate and support talent management frameworks. Contribute to HR initiatives such as employee engagement, retention and wellbeing strategies. Support the re-deployment and demobilisation of staff. Provide input into the HR component of tenders. Travel to interstate locations as required to support our national operations.
Ideally, 4-5+ years’ experience in a generalist Human Resources role with practical application of Human Resources in a Project Construction or Heavy Industry Manufacturing environment, with experience in supporting white and blue collar staff, and liaising with all levels of management. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations or a related field.
