At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re hiring an Engagement Manager to lead AWS consultants, partner, and client teams. Engagement Managers, manage and deliver AWS cloud products and services that enable our customers to realize their business objectives. These professional services engagements focus on the full platform of AWS customer solutions to help our customers and partners remove constraints and accelerate their journey to AWS.

AWS Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective AWS customer experience, best practices, and obsessing about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product, service, and training teams, to deliver the right solutions and drive feature innovations for our customers across all industries. Engagement Managers help Customers make decisions to meet their technical and business objectives by providing best practices, proactively identifying and closing project gaps.


We are looking for someone who is passionate about:

  • Collaborate with AWS field sales, ProServe and Business Operations teams to seek to understand our customer’s needs, their business, how success is defined, and ensure that we are exceeding expectations in delivery and developing valued solutions.
  • Experience in leveraging formal project management methodologies on enterprise level engagements
  • Has a keen passion for technology and services including infrastructure, business applications, data management, security, application platforms and consumer facing technology, and a desire to learn
  • Ability to apply strategic thinking and demonstrate understanding of requirements to execute
  • Ability to make decisions guided by policies, procedures, and business plan with limited guidance
  • Business case development, excel formula & macro development skills, and a passion to use the data to tell a story


Project Co-ordination

  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively and analytically in meeting customer needs
  • Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures
  • Organizing, attending, and participating in stakeholder meetings
  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings
  • Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings
  • Estimate, determine, and prepare project charges / billings for partners and customers
  • Providing administrative support as needed to the ProServe management team
  • Undertaking project tasks as required
  • Preparation of customer weekly reports and steering committee packs
  • Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable
  • Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective
  • Own the tracking of customer business objectives and the writing of customer case studies
  • Exceptional competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Practice Operations and Support

  • Jointly planning customer engagement with the AWS sales team to identify services against a segment, and building a plan to engage those customers
  • Business acumen to develop business cases and supporting financial models under the direction of AWS ProServe team
  • Manage the program plan to track practice initiatives
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective
  • Manage and report on operating cadence, and undertake practice projects as required
  • Provide support in creating compelling proposals for ProServe products and services


  • Experience in public cloud computing or with a major enterprise software or infrastructure provider
  • Practical experience using the AWS platform for rapid application development and scaling
  • Broad enterprise systems technology experience including IaaS / virtualization technologies, SAP, Oracle, and custom applications
  • Bachelor degree in business or related field of study.
  • Three years experience in related field.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • Knowledge file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines.
  • Competency in Jira, Kanban board management, MS project.
