About the role

Laing O'Rourke are recruiting for a Senior Track Engineer to join the South Eastern Program Alliance team based in Richmond, VIC.

The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) is a delivery entity created by the Victorian Government to remove 75 dangerous and congested level crossings across Victoria by 2025. It is one of the largest rail infrastructure projects in Victoria’s history.

Laing O’Rourke has already worked with LXRP to help deliver the Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade project. We are now working in a new program Alliance with LXRP, Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) and Jacobs to develop and deliver value-for-money engineering solutions for multiple level crossing removals.

Our current pipeline of works includes major station upgrades, track duplications and a range of other critical rail infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for managing and delivering works packages as per the project requirement.
  • Interface with design management and construction delivery team
  • Lead teams to a produce a successful outcome for Laing O’Rourke
  • Cost tracking and reporting in commercial meetings and contract reviews

You will have

  • A relevant engineering degree combined with significant experience on large scale civil/rail projects
  • Proven experience of leading teams in the work winning, planning and delivery space
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge about Perway systems in design, construction and maintenance applications.
  • A willingness to share knowledge with the team around you leading the way with your experience
  • A genuine desire to adopt best practice and lead with innovation
