The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Works Supervisor with relevant trade qualifications or broad experience in road construction and maintenance to join our Regional Maintenance Team.

As the Works Supervisor you will manage team leaders and crews to carry out routine maintenance works. Reporting directly to the District Works Manager you will ensure that works and projects are delivered in the agreed time, cost, quality, safety standards and targets. You will conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks as well as site inductions and investigations of incidents to ensure compliance to quality, safety and environmental procedures and to ensure risks are effectively managed. For your team to have the necessary skills to achieve its goals, you will develop and manage the performance of your staff by providing performance feedback, identifying skills gaps, preparing team and individual development plans and facilitating opportunities for development.

To be successful in this role, you will have broad experience supervising a team in road and construction maintenance and managing the allocation of resources to meet work objectives as well as monitoring output to ensure resource usage is optimised. If this sounds like you, please apply today!

The salary for this position is RMS Grade USS 7 ($88,450 - $93,348) per annum plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

Selection Criteria

Appropriate trade qualifications and or broad experience in road construction and maintenance.

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret plans and specifications for projects and subcontracts, estimate the cost, duration and resources required, control costs and forecast expenditure for project activities.

Demonstrated experience working in accordance with traffic control plans, environmental and safety hazard controls and procedures including safe work method statements, and conducting site inspections, inductions and incident investigations.

Possess a current motor vehicle driver licence.

Available to attend after hour’s emergency callouts and willingness to work outside normal working hours and to travel on occasion.
