Job Description

The SPMS Software Release Manager (SRM) has the overall responsibility for managing the deployment of application software to the customer environment. The Account Focal/Service Integration Leader (SIL) has operational and strategic responsibility for the Software Release Manager role.

This position is required to work within the constraints of the Change Management process, to coordinate the release of an application into the client’s network. This service involves the communication with appropriate stakeholders and ongoing compliance to an agreed standard in accordance with client requirements and the scope of services as defined within the ‘Document of Understanding’ (DOU).

This role will include the close working with the Delivery Centre dispatcher for timely delivery of Software Distribution services. Scope of services is defined in the accounts DOU and is subject to regular review and change.

Mandatory skills/requirements:

Experience and understanding of Software Packing and or Software Distribution experience on operating systems including but not limited to, Windows 7 and 10, Windows Server 2012/2016 – in both 32 and 64bit configurations.

Experience in a workflow management position/role.

Experience working in a medium to large scale Enterprise Software Management environment

Experience working with high focus and critical software packages and their distributions.

Process improvement skills and demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot and provide solutions.

Extremely responsive, with a strong sense of urgency. Able to respond to crisis situations in a methodical way and to prioritize work effectively

Strong organizational qualities in order to meet tight deadlines as well as coordinate, prioritize and communicate project status to applicable parties.

Desired skills/requirements:

IT Tertiary Qualification or extensive proven relevant work experience

Specific application packaging training

Specific application deployment technology training

Any training in Information Technology Services Management – eg ITIL.

Any project management training

Any Microsoft certification

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
