About the Opportunity

As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics, you will be responsible for performing scheduled inspections, fault diagnosis, repair and modification on airframe Avionics systems and sub systems. This role is located at the RAAF base in Pearce, WA.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting maintenance activities on electrical systems and components of the aircraft and ensure that all regulatory and airworthiness requirements are fully met
  • Carrying out flight line servicing's, line maintenance and other unplanned maintenance
  • Ensuring that all maintenance documentation complies with the relevant manuals, company procedures and customer regulations
  • Correctly and promptly recording details of work performed on the correct documentation, and if required, gain certification of the performance of such work
  • Ensuring that all appropriate documentation for engineering advice, defect reporting and publication amendments are incorporated as the need arises
  • Reporting all defects, deficiencies and unservice abilities in a timely manner
  • Carrying out maintenance to the delegated and authorised level
  • Initiating quality reporting relating to maintenance tasks
  • Ensuring workshop equipment is maintained and operating in the correct manner
  • Maintaining housekeeping and ensuring the work place is tidy and free from hazards
  • Ensuring hangar and workshop activities are carried out in accordance with relevant procedures

About you

As the ideal applicant, you'll have:

  • A certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) or equivalent
  • Previous experience working within the Defence or Aviation industry
  • An understanding of aircraft flight operations, flight safety and airworthiness considerations
  • A strong focus on maintenance procedures and processes
  • Well-developed self-management skills and ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs on time and within cost and quality constraints
  • Computer literacy and the ability to navigate maintenance management systems
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong commitment to safe work practises and continuous improvement along with a team focus
