The Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Group lead the provision of services to support the welfare and wellbeing of students. The Group works proactively to remove barriers and provide support to students who may be at risk of not being able to access or successfully complete their tertiary study. In addition, the Group responds to requests for assistance and support from students who have welfare and wellbeing concerns and from staff who may refer them. The Group is not only involved in direct service delivery but also in building capability among students through student mentoring, co-creation and leadership development initiatives, and among staff through focused professional development.

The Role & Your Responsibilities

The Student Training Coordinator will contribute to the development of training initiatives offered to students across RMIT. The role is responsible for the coordinating, monitoring and reviewing of training and skills development initiatives offered to students. The program scope includes the development of students’ skills in bystander intervention, shifting cultural and social norms around mental health and sexual violence, and other health promotion focuses such as alcohol consumption and sexual health literacy.

Skills & Experience Required

You are a seasoned program and/or project coordinator with outstanding organisational, time management and administrative skills. You have a high record of success in planning, setting priorities and managing tasks and bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills to everything you do. You have designed, developed, delivered and evaluated training courses for tertiary student learner as well as delivering face to face or via other channels. Working in a small collaborative team and with a high degree of autonomy, you will drive student engagement with such programs to achieve reach and impact.

Key to your success, is your ability to work on sensitive subject matters that relate to the broad spectrum of student wellbeing and inclusion, including issues such as sexual harm, gender equity, mental health and disability.


You will hold a degree in a relevant field with subsequent relevant experience or have extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields or have an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training. Please also note appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check.
