About Our Site

Our Eagle Farm site is the beating heart of operations for Thales' range of protected vehicles, which protect Australian soldiers in the field. At this site we provide a range of offering engineering and general maintenance services to ensure our soldiers remain safe. Our team of 140 have an unrivalled passion for what we do, our Support operations are pivotal to the ongoing success of both our Bushmaster and Hawkei platforms.

Our Opportunity

Our Protected Vehicles business is currently seeking a qualified vehicle spray painter for a 12 month fixed term contract position (potential to go permanent) focused on first class painting of our Bushmaster and Hawkei vehicles. The position is focused on all painting activities and maintenance of our vehicles to budget and to a high quality standard.


  • Painting of all types of vehicles and components following all relevant work instructions and drawings in a timely manner
  • Undertake a wide range of paint preparation including grit blasting, sanding and masking
  • Maintaining records, logbooks accurately and completing JSEA’s for all new activities
  • Focused on maintaining a clean and safe working environment as well as continuous improvement

About You

  • Qualified in certificate III in automotive vehicle body (vehicle painting)
  • You are experienced in the use of elevated work platforms and have the ability to break down, set up and stabilise established spray painting and other metal finishing processes
  • In addition to this you are experienced in managing/preparing spray booth/paint mixing facilities in ensure the facility is fit for purpose
  • Passionate about what you do and enjoy working in a busy team environment
  • Safety and process focused

Special Requirements

You must be able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance therefore only Australian citizens are able to be considered for this role.
