About the OpportunityWe are offering a number of exciting fly-in-fly-out Traineeships across South Flank’s Mining Production Team.
- Load & Haul (Cert II Surface Extraction)
Explore your interest in operating Heavy Mobile Machinery and play a pivotal role in the creation of a world class mine.
(Cert II Surface Extraction)**
Love the outdoors? Work in the heart of a mine site whilst learning how to safely blast Iron Ore Deposits. No experience required.
(Mobile Production Unit) (Cert II Surface Extraction)**
Already have a HR license and are looking for a new challenge? A MPU is a heavy rigid vehicle used to mix and deliver blast product on the surface of our Mine sites. For this traineeship a HR Licence is desirable but not essential.If you are an enthusiastic person, who is motivated to learn and wanting to embark on a new career with in the mining industry, this is a rare opportunity to be part of something big!
We are looking for adaptable, positive, individuals who are open to exploring the world of mining whilst learning something new every day. Effective communication skills both written and verbal are desirable and a strong commitment to your own well-being and the well-being of others is essential. FIFO experience is not mandatory however a positive attitude is. In addition the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team alongside a range of diverse individuals is crucial to succeed in this role.
In order to be successful in securing a Traineeship at South Flank you will identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, have Residence in Perth, Western Australia and a current and valid WA C Class Manual Drivers Licence.

Our Traineeships will be offered on a 2/1 roster, which includes one week days, one week nights and one week off. On successful completion of your Traineeship, you will receive a Certificate II in Surface Extraction.
