We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Step-Up Supervisor in the Kalgoorlie Smelter Maintenance Function. The Step-Up Supervisor is a key role reporting to and assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in the Mobile Maintenance Workshop.

As the Step-Up Supervisor, the role responsibilities will include assisting the with daily task allocation, rostering, reporting and general supervision activities, including filling in as the Supervisor from time to time. The position will require you to work ‘on the tools’ and your strong background as a HDD Fitter will enable you to mentor the team. Key stakeholders include engineering, planning, project teams, and the other maintenance teams as well as our contracting partners and vendors.

Preferably you will have previous experience working as an HDD Fitter with a solid understanding of mobile plant, as well as a background in mobile fleet mechanics. You will ideally have a record of accomplishment working as a leading hand or leadership/team leading positions.You will be a team player, have great communication skills and above all, have a strong orientation to safe work practices.

Skills and Experience

  • Current or previous experience

in a leadership role

  • Trade qualified, preferably

as a HDD Fitter

  • Solid history and knowledge

in mobile maintenance in a heavy engineering/mining environment

  • Previous exposure

to Cat, Komatsu, and other mobile equipment

  • Sound problem diagnosing and

solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and

communication skills

  • Able to mentor, coach and

guide a team; and

  • Computer literate with 1SAP

experience or similar would be highly regarded.
