About the opportunity
In this unique and exciting role, we are seeking a well-established projects management professional to provide leadership for the Construction & Commissioning Function for Capital Projects specialising in Alumina Refinery Brownfields Construction.
You will be a key member of the Capital Core Leadership Team reporting to the Global Capital Manager.
The Construction & Commissioning Manager shall ensure all Projects are delivered in accordance with the following:-
Executed without Regulatory non-compliance
Budget and schedule requirements
Within scope, specification, and quality requirements
Are handed over via a consistent methodology for the testing and commissioning.
The role spans across all Alcoa’s Global Alumina Refineries including Pinjarra, Wagerup, Kwinana which are all in Western Australia. The international refineries are based in Sao Luis and Pocos, both in Brazil as well as San Ciprian in Spain. Alcoa also has a 25% share in Ma’aden Alumina refinery in Saudi Arabia.

You will possess and engineering bachelor degree and preferably a post graduate business or project management qualification as well as highly developed interpersonal and communication skills coupled with extensive engineering supervisory background. To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience and a strong working knowledge of successfully working within all forms of contracting models including but not limited to; EPC, EpCM, LSTK, Offshore Fabrication & Modularisation and a strong level of Australian and international construction management experience is highly desirable.

Alcoa of Australia’s head office is located in Booragoon, approximately 15 kilometres south of Perth’s central business district. Approximately 150 employees provide corporate services, including finance, procurement, information technology, environmental management and corporate affairs, to Alcoa’s businesses locally and world-wide.
