Working in Supply Chain Scheduling you will play a key role influencing throughput across the whole WA Iron Ore Supply Chain. This Traineeship will allow you to gain an understanding of the different roles performed in the department while being mentored by experienced peers.
As a Logistics Scheduler, you will report to the Supervisor Supply Chain Scheduling and will take ownership for:
- Coordinating the movement of product from mine stockpile to the ship hatch within a 0-48 hour timeframe - Developing and communicating rolling Inflow and Outflow Schedules including Rail Schedule, Mine Train Load Out allocation, vessel line-up and product distribution at Port- Solving problems that adversely impact on the achievement of the schedule, analysing different scenarios and for flagging opportunities for additional throughput- Actively communicating with various stakeholders to understand and mitigate risks within a 48 hour time frame- Coordinating maintenance opportunities with stakeholders - Performing calculations on cycle time, product quality and grades and overall supply / demand analysis
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Education to Year 12- A degree qualification would be preferable but not essential - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships with colleagues both on site and in Perth - The ability to work under pressure within dynamic workplace, think outside the box and make timely decisions based on available information- This is an entry level role and whilst prior experience in a mining or supply chain related discipline would be beneficial it’s not deemed as essential
You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.
This position will work on our Lifestyle Roster, working a pattern of days and nights, with a block of days off at the end of each swing.
Employees on this roster will align to the following shift rotation: 2D2N5X, 2D3N4X, 3D2N5X. Shifts are 12.5 hours including handover and you will benefit from additional shift allowances, as part of your remuneration package. As an added benefit, those on a Lifestyle Roster will also enjoy an additional week of annual leave per year.
