  • 18 month fixed term contract on a part-time basis ( 2 days a week to be based in the office)
  • To based in Eight Mile Plains/Yennora

The Public Liability - Claims team is part of the Woolworths Legal Services Group. We handle customer injuries and claims arising out of personal injury (slip and trips, food poisoning etc) and property damage (trolley hitting cars, leaking bottles etc) made against the Woolworths Group.

About the Role
Reporting to the Group Team Manager - Public Liability, you will proactively manage a blended portfolio of public liability customer claims and group property and recovery claims to effective and sustainable outcomes. You will adopt a service-oriented approach that is focused on early intervention and the interests of all stakeholders.


Key responsibilities:

  • Analysis of liability, quantum, and indemnity issues associated with a blended portfolio of public liability claims
  • Driving the duration of claims through early intervention and implementation of proactive claims management strategies
  • Resolution of claims within the approved delegation of authority in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Review of contractual documents and consideration of recovery or contribution from third parties
  • Constructive and proactive in sharing own expertise and feedback to team and peers to enable them to develop
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving issues that may arise in the business as a result of gaps in risk awareness or due process
  • Able to present complex ideas in clear and concise ways
  • Applies all aspects of the Public Liability Claims Management model in delivering commercial and practical outcomes

About You

  • At least 5 years claims management experience
  • Proven ability to strategically apply legislation
  • Adept written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability build rapport and confidence with our customers to enable their recover
  • Adept written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and work organisation skills
  • Knowledge of SAP and Google suite
