Customer Project Manager

Responsible for leading and managing Cisco Professional Services projects and solutions delivering the business outcome to Cisco clients. The role will require a balance of responsibilities in managing projects independently as well as providing project management at the direction of the program manager on other programs of work.

The project delivery will include design, build and implementation of leading edge technologies across portfolio of Cisco technologies. This role is best suited to a self-motivated, driven individual with a demonstrated track record in managing medium to large complex projects in a challenging and demanding environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Understands the customer’s business objectives and ensure alignment of the project scope to the required business outcome

  • Set and continually manage expectations with the internal and external stakeholders and the project team

  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and lead project delivery to ensure that the goals, objectives and all elements of the project are accomplished within the prescribed schedule, budgetary, and quality parameters

  • Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arrange for assignment of project personnel

  • Meet changing needs and requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

  • Ability to manage remote staff deliverables

  • Proactive, innovative and flexible approach

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope

  • Review deliverables prepared by team before passing to customer

  • Effectively apply Cisco methodology and enforce project standards

  • Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures

  • Minimize exposure and risk on project

  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately

  • Provide clear communication within the project team and to the businesses

This position requires expert knowledge of the PMI methodology and framework. Additionally, the position will require a resource that is capable of grasping Cisco technologies and solutions, as well as an ability to effectively manage projects, timelines, budgets and resources to support those Cisco technologies and solutions. The ideal candidate has identifiable industry experience and is comfortable working in a cross-functional and global team environment.

Required Competencies for this position are as follows:

  • Over 5 years of project
management experience in successful delivery on complex highly integrated IT platforms (SW/HW)

  • PMI PMP accreditation or other
Professional Project management accreditation

  • Familiarity with Agile Methodology desirable

  • Strong customer relations experience

  • Flexibility and a team player

  • Self-starter with a desire to achieve goals

  • Focus on delivering quality product to time and on budget

  • Multi-partner/vendor contract execution and management

This role requires at a minimum Baseline Vetting, preferably Negative Vetting Level 1 of security clearance with 5+ years related experience in networking / telecommunications industry.
