About the Role

The Business Support Specialist for WFC is responsible for the development, communication and execution of the WFC communications and events strategy, leading engagement with internal and external partners and supporting internal team engagement through training, project and change initiatives.

By utilising current and future communications means, the Business Support Specialist effectively executes the WFC strategy to the external market and internal teams in a timely, measured and effective manner. They must also plan, organise and help execute the WFC Supplier Events within budget and in line with WFC’s supplier engagement strategy.

This role also exists to work alongside the people and culture team to provide training opportunities to the wider WFC team, as well as supporting and developing the ongoing business case of the WFC Portal and liaising with the platform partners and internal Woolworths IT teams to improve automation and on-going continuous improvement of the platform.

The final key pillar the role is responsible for, is leading the stakeholder engagement for internal and external partnerships within WFC. Working externally with suppliers and industry bodies to increase engagement and internally with different Woolworths Group business units to support development and execution of partnership strategies.

How will you be successful in the role:

  • Developing, communicating and executing clear, timely, concise and meaningful communications strategies which align to WFC’s supplier strategy

  • Utilising appropriate communications methods to effectively communicate WFC’s priorities, successes, opportunities and progress to stakeholders and ensuring consistency in messaging and approach

  • Plan, communicate and execute WFC Supplier Events to meet supplier needs obtained via voice of supplier, advantage and industry sources.

  • Managing, analysing and communicating results from Voice of Supplier, Advantage and PLMA Surveys to create meaningful action plans which result in increased NPS results.

  • Supporting WFC Buying & Sourcing Chapter with sourcing strategy development using Agile ways of working

  • Developing and delivering Buyer & Developer training programs for new starters and ongoing improvement

  • Creating tools, frameworks and processes to support buying teams as well as working with change and project teams to support with the delivery and engagement of new projects and initiatives

  • Utilising various internal, industry and social media formats to grow senior leadership team profile including Managing Director and direct reports.

About You

You will be excited about working in a challenging, dynamic environment managing multiple stakeholders with varying priorities. As well as being a natural team player and social facilitator, you will ideally have:

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills using multiple means and addressing various stakeholders

  • Solid understanding of events management practices and key variables which affect price/service

  • Proven ability to influence and and partner with senior leaders and peers

  • Ability to juggle multiple requests across various business units and prioritise for efficiency

  • Ability to build strong internal relationships and ability to flex style to suit the audience

Other skills highly regarded would be:

  • Some understanding of industry and government initiatives underway in retail and how WFC best positions around them

  • Digital media & creative development experience
