APAC & Japan Executive Communications Leader

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced communications leader with a passion for thought leadership and storytelling to lead executive communications, supporting the APJ AWS’ Vice President of Commercial Field Operations. In this role, you will develop and manage an internal and external communications, ( Excluding Media and PR) strategy that drives awareness and alignment to WW and APJ business goals and drives thought leadership to support company brand and company goals. You will write strategic messaging and content that engages and builds credibility with APJ field employees and the external market place.   • Create an executive communications and rhythm of the business plan to support awareness and alignment to WW and APJ business goals
  • Develop strategic messaging for internal leadership communications, bringing the right information and insights into each communication initiative.
  • Develop an external communications strategy that drives market awareness and technology thought leadership, inclusive of a customer engagement strategy and social media strategy, working with Public Relations (PR) to execute media engagement and thought leadership.
  • Create external speaker presentations inclusive of talk track, slides and visuals for customer engagements, business and industry presentations, as well as AWS events.
  • Develop agendas, talk tracks, slides, and scripts for both internal and external events and for a variety of internal communication channels, including (but not limited to) organizational emails, podcasts, videos, keynotes, and town hall meetings.
  • Create compelling, executive-level presentation materials (slides, scripts, messaging documents, videos, visuals and customer stories) for internal speaking engagements
  • Develop an APJ plan, aligned to WW planning, for the annual Worldwide Sales Kickoff event. Create leadership storyboard, manage APJ speaker lineups, counsel speakers on presentation messaging. Build messaging reinforcement strategies to appropriately link WW, APJ and Area priorities, and ensure synergy and consistency of strategic messaging.
  • Orchestrate WW Customer Satisfaction programs, assess results and derive fact-based insights and recommendations for customer engagement improvements.
  • Create and manage an APJ Leader Forum that supports both the overall development of the APJ field leader community, and accelerates strategic priorities via leader awareness, understanding, and alignment.

    Basic Qualifications
  • 15+ years professional experience in communications or PR, preferably in executive and/or internal communications role
  • An exceptional writer, editor, and communicator with executive presence
  • A demonstrated ability to synthesize complex concepts, formulate a clear point of view, and write concise and compelling narratives.
  • Strong project management skills and experience, including managing internal stakeholders and external agencies, and multiple campaigns and projects at once
  • Must be comfortable in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and able to manage priorities well
  • Ability to exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes.
  • Willingness to roll up one’s sleeves and get work done, even when it’s outside the scope of the job.
  • An agile, flexible individual with a “can-do” approach to managing ambiguity and a highly iterative creative process

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with writing for international audiences.
  • Experience planning, developing, editing, and delivering content for video, mobile apps, and digital channels
  • Experience developing communications for sales and/or customer-facing field roles
