Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time and Part Time Passenger Attendant to be part of the Customer Service Delivery Team based at Albury.

Passenger Attendants are team players that deliver and maintain the highest standard of customer service, safety and security to customers on NSW Trains services.

Your key responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Attending to customer needs as required in a polite and courteous manner
  • Prioritising work to meet challenging situations and unforeseen circumstances
  • On-board cleaning (including cleaning public amenities)
  • Preparing catering requirements for customers

As a Permanent Full Time Passenger Attendant, you will be working a 76-hour fortnight across a 7 day rotating morning/afternoon shift roster including weekends and public holidays and may be required to work additional hours at short notice with potential for overtime. There will be a requirement to travel outside of Albury (Sydney and Melbourne) with overnight stays.

As a Permanent Part Time Passenger Attendant, you will be working 5 days per fortnight including weekends, overnight travel and public holidays. You also may be required to work additional hours at short notice with potential for overtime. There will be a requirement to travel outside of Albury (Sydney and Melbourne) with overnight stays.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has extensive experience in a customer service environment, has the ability to carry out manual handling duties and meets the required level of fitness as required for a Rail Safety Worker Category 2.
