Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

About the team
Our Freight Branch, part of the Customer Strategy and Technology Division, lead and coordinate the safe, productive and sustainable movement of goods in and through NSW.
The Freight Customer Engagement & Delivery leads the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement plans and management of the stakeholder program of work, to ensure stakeholder engagement informs and promotes the identification and delivery of improved freight outcomes for stakeholders, customers and communities across TfNSW. The Unit also leads the development and implementation of capacity building projects within TfNSW to bring about an improved organisational understanding and capability to ensure the movement of freight is a core consideration in all of the work of TfNSW.
This team is also responsible for overseeing internal and external freight communications and pursuing a clear and credible freight narrative across TfNSW projects, articulating consistent messaging about the safety, productivity and sustainability benefits of integrating freight into transport planning, delivery and operations.
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Stakeholder Engagement Officer to join the team.
For this position we support flexible working arrangements and work from remote locations all across NSW.
The role will focus on the development, implementation and evaluation of stakeholder engagement strategies and programs that support and deliver Freight Branch’s business objectives.
In essence you will lead engagement and translate feedback, research and sentiment into delivery outcomes for the branch. You will be part of team responsible for embedding a robust and equitable engagement framework and management tools that enables the Branch and TfNSW to engage purposefully with freight stakeholders and customers.
In this position you will be part of a team of engagement specialists that develops and delivers an annual program of engagement (eg. events, meetings, forums, webinars, and industry advisory councils) and lead the collaboration with stakeholders to deliver a customer-focused program of work. You will also manage a portfolio of stakeholders that you engage with in conjunction with the program management team to enable the safer, more productive and sustainable movement of goods across the transport network.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in developing, implementing and evaluating stakeholder engagement strategies and have demonstrable experience in embedding engagement principles and practices that achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for government and the community.
You will have a sound understanding of governance processes and provide secretariat support to Ministerial and executive level advisory councils that deliver organisational outcomes. This includes the development of agendas, creation of business papers and taking responsibility for progressing the program of work and actions. You will need strategic understanding of the workings of government and the ability to work flexibly to competing priorities and deadlines.
You will possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), have a solid understanding of risk, take initiative and have demonstrated experience in collaborating and negotiating across multiple stakeholders to achieve improved freight outcomes for the people of NSW.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 8 ($118,015 - $128,635) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
