We are seeking Monitoring Technicians to join a specialist team working on critical water and wastewater network monitoring projects. Thorough this work we support large infrastructure upgrades and provide real-time data on network performance including overflow alarming. Our team is highly regarded in the industry and over many years have developed proven systems to deliver quality results for clients.

It is a physically active, mostly outdoor role. A typical day will be installing and servicing high tech gadgets in environments such as wastewater manholes, stormwater pipes, above ground instrument cabinets and treatment plants. The nature of the work means you can't be afraid to get a little dirty from time to time while you work on interesting technical problems.

You'll be working with a small crew or alone and safety won't be compromised. The site-based aspects are balanced with office based organisational work including checking data, scheduling maintenance and reporting on the performance of your sites to engineers, scientists and managers within our Water team.

Candidate Specification :
We are open to meeting candidates with varying backgrounds who are practical, aren't afraid of working with wastewater, and have a high level of safety awareness. You may already be in the water industry and looking for a change. Tradespeople or labourers looking to move to a more technical field would also be a great fit.

Experience in water and instrumentation are an advantage however, we recognise that candidates may have not have this. As long as you have a basic set of skills and a good attitude, full job specific training will be provided along with all required safety equipment and vaccinations.

Basic ability in word, excel and software is beneficial.

The successful candidate/s will be based in our central Auckland office but may be required to undertake short-term travel both in New Zealand and Australia if required.

The person who ideally will be suited to the role will have the following attributes:

* Interest in water and the environment
* Practical (can skilfully use all standard tools and materials)
* Has basic self-organisational and software skills (email, word, excel etc.)
* Physically fit and able to pass a full medical test
* Willing to work around wastewater and in manholes (confined spaces)
* Willing to work night shifts from time to time
* Able to travel out of town overnight/multiple nights
* Full NZ drivers licence
* Legally entitled to work in New Zealand
