Metallurgical coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground metallurgical coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.
Workshop Supervisor – Grosvenor Mine
As the Workshop Supervisor, reporting to the Workshop Coordinator, you will be accountable for managing the coordination of personnel, equipment and resources to complete maintenance activities in order to ensure compliance.
- You will ensure scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is completed in line with safety and statutory obligations and will achieve this through active engagement and effective leadership
- Ensure tasks being carried in a safe manner and comply with applicable policies, plans and procedures by the crew
- Audit maintenance work to ensure it is completed in accordance with set strategy, plan and to the appropriate standard
- Oversee people development issues in your area including input into training and developing of team members
- Identify cost saving initiatives opportunities for improvement and champion those changes

The successful candidate will have either a Mechanical Engineer degree or be a Mechanical Tradesperson. Demonstrated maintenance experience and knowledge relevant to the coal mining industry. Experienced with management of small teams and passionate about driving a high-performance Workshop will be beneficial to your application. This role is 7 on 7 off day/night roster, based in Moranbah, QLD at our Grosvenor Mine in Moranbah, QLD.
