We are looking for an experienced Water Construction Water Construction Foreperson/Drainlayer to join our team!

A bit about your role;

The Foreman is responsible for overseeing day-to -day activities involved with the delivery of 3 water renewals as directed by the Horowhenua District Council, and other capital project work as directed from time to time. They will take on a training role assisting construction crew staff studying towards water reticulation qualifications. They will be liaising with sub-contractors and members of public, ensuring all Downer staff, the public and subcontractors are kept safe at all times.

A bit about you;

You will need to have experience in civil pipe laying in water,wastewater and stormwater.. We would like you to apply if you have:

  • Preferable to have several years’ experience with project works and reticulated 3 water renewal or maintenance
  • Hold or be studying towards a relevant National Certificate including Level 4 Water Reticulation or Drain Laying
  • Experience supervising water reticulation teams
  • Driver’s license; class 1 with class 2 & RTW an advantage
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team
  • Demonstrable problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in dealing with the public
  • Self-motivated, energetic, proactive and results orientated
