Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

About the team:
Our Freight Branch, part of the Customer Strategy and Technology Division, lead and coordinate the safe, productive and sustainable movement of goods in and through NSW.
The Freight Customer Engagement & Delivery leads the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement plans and management of the stakeholder program of work, to ensure stakeholder engagement informs and promotes the identification and delivery of improved freight outcomes for stakeholders, customers and communities across TfNSW. The Unit also leads the development and implementation of capacity building projects within TfNSW to bring about an improved organisational understanding and capability to ensure the movement of freight is a core consideration in all of the work of TfNSW.
This team is also responsible for overseeing internal and external freight communications and pursuing a clear and credible freight narrative across TfNSW projects, articulating consistent messaging about the safety, productivity and sustainability benefits of integrating freight into transport planning, delivery and operations.
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to join the team.
You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of communication and stakeholder engagement strategies to assist in the effective management of customer information and engagement needs for Freight Branch programs and initiatives. The team will also be responsible for developing and implementing a consistent communications narrative across diverse audiences to enable the safer, more productive and sustainable movement of goods within the transport system
On a day to day basis you will develop and implement consultation strategies, create freight related communication tools (videos, media releases, social media content, social media campaigns and brochures) that increase the profile of freight as a critical part of the transport system. This role will also support the rest of the cluster in creating engaging freight communications for service and infrastructure projects.
For this position we support flexible working arrangements and work from remote locations all across NSW.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing and executing communication and engagement plans within a customer-focused environment.
It is key that you possess the ability to write and develop engaging content, maintain a proactive approach and come with excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
Ideally you will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. media, communications, public relations) or demonstrated career experience in a relevant field.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 8 ($118,015 - $132,176) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
