About the role

We currently have an opportunity for an Engineer, Processing to join our team at the Red Mountain CHPP in central Queensland. Reporting to the Superintendent Processing, this position is responsible for identifying opportunities and delivering technical solutions to ensure that the Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) achieves production, efficiency and quality targets. This is a fantastic career opportunity for an Engineer looking to grow and develop their skills. This role is offered on a Monday to Friday roster with the opportunity for flexible work arrangements. In this role you will:

  • Day to day support of operations and monitoring of process performance
  • Analyse and improve processing systems to minimise lost opportunity in coal recovery and production volume
  • Identify and deliver projects to optimise CHPP operation in terms of Safety, Volume and Cost
  • Work closely with Operations, Maintenance and Coal Mining personnel to ensure that both volume and quality targets are met
  • Drive a culture with a focus on reducing costs through maximising recovery, minimising down time and eliminating waste
  • Generation of and input into working procedures and systems
  • Provide leadership and mentoring of graduate engineers and other personnel on site including operations and the onsite laboratory

About you

  • Previous experience in a processing plant - coal industry would be highly regarded
  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering (Processing/chemical), Metallurgy or equivalent is desirable
  • A proven commitment to safety is critical
  • You are collaborative and committed to building mutually beneficial relationships across functional teams and able to work within a small team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Open to new challenges and experiences and willing to take a “hands on” approach
  • Familiarity with production systems such as 1SAP, Historian applications, AMPLA & SCADA PLC, would be advantageous, but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
