APJC Enterprise Support - Manager of Strategy & Operations
At Amazon Web Services (AWS) we are leading the cloud revolution. As a APJC Manager of Strategy & Operations you will work with some of the largest and most complex customers in the world. In this new, highly visible, role you will ensure that all AWS Enterprise Support teams across APJC work together effectively and efficiently to deliver to the short and longer-term strategy, innovating and improving our ways of working along the journey.

Role & Responsibilities

The AWS APJC Enterprise Support team is hiring a leader of Strategy & Operations to build and manage a robust, geographically dispersed team capable of owning strategy development, field enablement and execution of initiatives, projects and programs. Your purpose will be to enable, support, and accelerate the APJC Enterprise Support business and team in their mission to help customers successfully adopt and maintain their AWS cloud-computing technologies.

In this role, you will be responsible for the APJC Enterprise Support Field Operations function, managing a variety of local and enterprise initiatives to develop and support the Enterprise Support team maintain their position as industry leaders and trusted advisors to our customers. You will be a trusted advisor to the APJC Head of Enterprise Support and be responsible for leading the definition, implementation, execution and measurement of the regions success. As the leader of Strategy & Operations, you will be tasked with working with the leadership team on developing strategic vision, and operationalising new initiatives, implement global programs and deliver projects that ensure its Technical Account Managers are able to focus on high value, customer-focused work. You will orchestrate critical business planning and enablement activities as well as synchronise the efforts of country leaders to deliver consistent, high quality results. As part of your role, you will assist the country leaders to manage goal and metrics reporting, ongoing operational support, training, analytics, provide field enablement mechanisms, and work with a diverse set of stakeholders.

Beyond the responsibilities to the APJC team, this role will see you working hand in hand with your worldwide peers to support the organisational strategy and goals. Your ability to influence, drive strategic decision-making and realise tangible results will be a key part of this role – this is where you can make your impact.

The successful candidate will have strong inter-personal skills and demonstrated success in the areas of enablement, skills development, program and project management within a technical sales/ business development organisation. Given the unique vantage point of this position, you will also serve as a member of the APJC Enterprise Support leadership team capable of providing valuable recommendations with respect to strategy and development. This role also requires analytical skills and knowledge of cloud computing concepts to understand project details and be able to develop meaningful initiatives and programs.

You will be a proven leader with the ability to gain stakeholder buy-in, communicate confidently at both the executive and team level, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to:
  • Supporting the Head of Enterprise Support in addressing and delivering solutions to strategic issues (ambiguous, complex, long term, cross-business)
  • Deliver integrated and aligned XLOB strategic business planning to support the Enterprise Support business
  • Monitor the business execution and lead corrective actions when required
  • Work closely with the APJC Enterprise Support leadership to implement and optimise mechanisms to track, manage and improve our customer’s and TAM’s experience
  • Realigning, reporting and modifying the approaches to delivering the strategic plan over the short, mid and long-term
  • Independently leading program work-streams including analysis, strategy development, planning and execution and communication mechanisms to ensure buy-in and success
  • Focus on aligning goals and priorities within APJC to global initiatives underway
  • Defining, socialising and agreeing success metrics for initiatives, both planned and in-flight
  • Engaging with multiple stakeholders across various levels of the organisation to drive strategic decision making and outcomes
  • Have strong business acumen, providing recommendations and identifying great ideas that can be developed and promoted to make an impact on our productivity, streamlining strategic initiatives and overseeing program management.
    The successful candidate must possess the ability to think critically, be self-motivated, able to deal with large amounts of ambiguity and navigate stakeholders across a complex, matrixed organisation. You should be detail oriented, a self-starter, have excellent problem solving abilities, and be an exemplary communicator.

  • 10+ years of experience in leading cross-functional operations teams
  • 10+ years working with technical field teams (as in technical sales, support, professional services, or similar in a technical organisation)
  • 8+ years of experience in managing complex, strategic projects involving diverse stakeholders across a matrixed organisation
  • 5-7 years of P&L management
  • 5+ years of report automation and analysis skills
  • Data-driven, has a strong analytical skill, passionate about information gathering, problem analysis, extracting insights, and solving problems
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in a STEM field


  • Postgraduate degree or higher
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Experience managing people, incl. geographically dispersed teams
  • Experience building forecasting models
  • Extremely strong problem structuring and solving skills and ability to deal with ambiguity
• Technical skills to support automation of routine activities using advanced Excel, SQL, Python or a reporting platform
