Business Continuity Management Responsible for Xero’s Business Continuity Management Framework and ensuring it follows best practice and delivers value to the Xero business. Ensure clear ownership and accountability for all elements of the BCM Framework. Establish a cross functional forum to drive continual improvement and awareness of Business Continuity Management and drive a business resilience mindset across the business. Develop tools, templates and playbooks to enable the different areas of the Xero business to undertake the required elements of the BCM framework and build resilience to potentially disruptive events. Be an internal expert to help and support the business understand the BCM Framework and undertake the specific parts of the framework required to improve resilience to potential disruptive events. This could include providing support and guidance around business impact assessments, developing continuity plans or advising on any other business continuity or business resilience needs. Maintain sound understanding of key technology systems underpinning the Xero business to ensure alignment with business recovery objectives. Maintain a calendar of BCM related activities and plan and coordinate a program of tests and mock scenarios across the business to test our processes and identify improvement opportunities. Provide periodic updates and reports to the Board Audit & Risk Management Committee, the Executive Leadership Team and other key internal and external stakeholders. Risk Management Align Business Continuity Management activities to the broader Enterprise Risk Management Framework by understanding current and emerging risks and how these could impact business continuity and business resilience. Support business functions in the identification of internal and external risks (people, processes, technology) that could have a business continuity impact on the Xero business, and work with key business functions to proactively build resilience to these events. Liaise with other technology companies to share different practices and approaches to business continuity and resilience.
7+ years experience working in business continuity, incident management or risk management roles. Experience working in big-4 CA firms and/or a large corporate environments (experience working in a modern software/ technology company would be looked on favourably although not essential). Understanding of key risk management and business continuity management principles, frameworks, documents (risk assessment, BIAs, Continuity Plans, DR). Working cross functionally and interfacing with Technology teams.

Reporting to the EGM Risk and Assurance, the Head of Business Continuity & Resilience will be critical in helping Xero prepare, respond and recover from any disruptive events.
The Risk & Assurance team’s purpose is to protect and create value in a simple, smart and seamless way. This will be achieved by creating a best practice Risk Management Framework aligned to the Xero business requirements, making it relevant, impactful and alive.
You will lead the coordination and continual improvement of Xero’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) Framework and improve the resilience of the Xero business to events that could disrupt our business operations and/ or adversely affect our customers, reputation and brand.
You will develop a broad network with Xeros across the entire global business and help protect our business by proactively identifying opportunities to reduce the likelihood of significant incidents occurring whilst at the same time ensuring that should an incident occur, it can be dealt with in a manner to minimise the impact to our business.
This role is critical in building Trust with all our stakeholders and will be a fantastic opportunity to make a difference to small businesses across the globe by helping Xero be resilient to known and unknown risks.
