About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Rail Systems for Stage 1 of the Parramatta Light Rail project. Stage 1 involves the delivery of a two-way track which will connect Westmead to Carlingford via Parramatta CBD; spanning 12 kilometres in total.
Laing O’Rourke is delivering:
- The design and construct of high voltage power supply upgrades and substations
- The stabling and maintenance facility
- The fit out of 16 light rail stations
You will provide support to the Project by being directly responsible in the delivery aspects of rail packages of work to ensure the project is delivered within budget, time, quality and sustainability objectives safely. These packages include tracks, both ballasted and embedded, traction power and overhead wiring and signalling.
You are also responsible for the direction, performance and mentoring of the direct report project and site engineers on the project. Commercial acumen, procurement experience and excellent subcontractor management will be advantageous to the role.
A relevant Engineering degree and extensive experience with rail systems and a strong delivery focus. A background working on large scale projects >$500M with a Tier 1 or 2 contractor would be highly desirable.
You will also require experience in managing the design development process, procurement and delivering Design & Construct contracts.
