- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience working in the security or privacy field.
- Experience in privacy with one of the following privacy principles or technologies: privacy by design, user data protection, GDPR, data inventory, DLP, Encryption, anonymization or privacy impact assessments.
- Experience working on Privacy technical issues within Privacy Engineering or Privacy Compliance.
- Experience leading in a response effort to privacy issues.
- Experience with privacy principles and relative technologies (sensitive data handling, retention, user data protection, privacy by design, gap analysis, DLP, anonymization).
- Experience performing data analysis, and an understanding of SQL.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to drive consensus with distributed teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-changing privacy industry with an ever-changing legal landscape.

At Google we treat privacy and security responsibilities with the utmost level of care. The Privacy Incident Management team responds, when privacy issues arise. We are on the initial line to lead our response to these issues across the company, for most any Google product.
As a member of the Privacy Incident Management team, you will be responsible for responding to incoming privacy reports, triaging them and leading an organized response with cross-functional partner teams (Security and Privacy Leadership, Legal, Engineering, Comms, Privacy and Data Protection Office, Privacy Consultants, etc.) until closure. Some privacy incidents are gray and may require facilitating discussion with the right people to identify any potential issues and make the best decision about our response. Often times, you will be required to take technical input and explain it in easily understandable language that non-technical groups can understand.
- Respond to incoming incident reports, triage them, and lead an organized response with our partners until closure using team procedures.
- Translate and summarize technical conversations to non-technical audiences.
- Recognize when issues are more systemic and work with partners or product teams to prevent these incidents in the future.
- Operate on a business hour rotation with other team members to respond to incoming incidents.
- Communicate high-severity issues to leadership.
