About the role

UGL is looking for an experienced and motivated Project Supervisor - Electrical to join our Capital Delivery Office (CDO) with TasWater. The purpose of the TasWater CDO is to build the capability and capacity of TasWater to fulfil its customer promises for improved service levels by efficiently and effectively delivering an accelerated capital program of works. This role will be based in the Bryn Estyn Water Treatment Plant near New Norfolk in Hobart.

The TasWater CDO will deliver\:

Bryn Estyn Water Treatment Plant (BE WTP) is Hobarts primary WTP and was originally constructed in 1962 with capacity augmentations in 1972 and 1992. The condition of some of the plant infrastructure and the water quality in the Derwent River is impacting on operational effectiveness on the existing plant and TasWater has undertaken upgrade the plant.

The Bryn Estyn WTP Upgrade Project aims to increase treatment capacity, redundancy and resilience enabling the plant to be operated at its original design capacity of 160ML/d. This will involve constructing new treatment units adjacent to the current plant, retaining existing assets where appropriate and removing redundant existing treatment units once the new plant is fully operational.

As the Project Supervisor – Electrical you will be responsible for\:

  • Providing appropriate and relevant information to Project Managers ensuring projects will be delivered safely, on time, within cost and to the required level of quality;
  • Ensuring subcontracts act safety and comply with safety requirements;
  • Attending project work sites to check that all required technical standards and contract requirements are being met; and
  • Maintaining records in relevant project management databases and information systems so that all required information is correctly captured and readily available.

About You

  • You will have previous experience as an Electrical Supervisor within the water/wastewater industry;
  • You will have advanced knowledge of Electrical and Control Systems and be comfortable as the subject matter expert on site;
  • You will be able to build relationships and rapport with stakeholders at all levels; and
  • Excellent team management & organisational ability.
