Software Engineer, Security and Privacy

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, Rust, or Go.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience designing and implementing software systems in Java, C, C++ and/or Python, including experience designing security solutions for operating systems and distributed systems.
  • Experience in the development of security tools, automation, or frameworks.
  • Large scale systems design experience.

In this role, you will be a skilled software engineer who enjoys security and/or privacy work, and has experience with systems security, applications security, network security, data protection and infrastructure privacy, cryptography or automated malware analysis. You will be a security and/or privacy researcher who enjoys addressing real world problems and coding. In this role, you will focus on security or privacy for components of our systems, such as client devices, networking equipment and server infrastructure, with an emphasis on threats from all sources. You will be building large-scale systems to protect Google's employees and users including working on our core infrastructure to prevent intrusion and misuse.

  • Design and apply advanced security techniques.
  • Develop advanced security and cryptographic systems.
  • Build large-scale detection systems.
  • Design, implement and deploy changes to authentication infrastructure at Google.
