About the role
Design Leads help define, detail and drive end to end product experiences at Xero. You’ll be a ‘player / coach’ – working on your own design research but also assisting others through design critique and mentorship. You’ll be contributing to design strategy, and looking after key relationships with product leaders. You’ll play help define how we improve as a Design Research and Design team by working closely with other Leads, as well as our Design Directors.
Our team researches, analyses and shares insights into the attitudes and behaviors of people that currently use Xero, as well as those who don’t yet but might in the future.
You’ll be learning about people’s lives outside of their interactions with Xero, and observing their experience using Xero. You’ll identify where people get stuck and why. You’ll help the wider business focus on the most critical user problems and opportunities that we can address – then help discern if the changes we make get the results we want.
You’ll join a team of specialist design researchers who work within our wider design team that includes product designers and content strategists. We’re spread around the globe, with people based in New Zealand, Australia and the United States. Despite the distance, we’re a tight-knit and collaborative group. Our researchers work closely with other teams as well, in particular engineers, and product management.
