This is a 12 month fixed term, MAT leave cover role with full-time hours.
As a Senior Finance Analyst - Tax at Iress you will operate in a global Finance Reporting team where you will bring your passion for tax compliance and consulting. Identifying areas of improvement will come naturally to you. This is a highly collaborative environment where you will bring your strong reporting and analytical skills to help impact decisions across the business.
The candidate should be a qualified professional in either accounting or law, and have 5+ years of corporate tax experience, ideally gained from a mixture of practice and industry roles. First-time movers from the Big 4 or second-tier firms are welcome if the candidate can demonstrate a strong appreciation of the commercial nature of an in-house role.
What you will be doing:
Preparing Australian income tax return and associated schedules
Delivery of periodic global tax statutory reporting
Preparing or reviewing global tax compliance items, including but not limited to: Australian BASs, Australian FBT returns; withholding tax obligations; tax instalment obligations
Involvement in managing transfer pricing, thin capitalisation and R&D projects for all global entities
Manage external advisors and foreign finance teams on globally outsourced tax returns
Provide tax advice to the global group on business transactions, including international related party dealings
Governance and controls: document, enhance and automate tax processes and controls
What you will need:
A degree in either Accounting or law - CA or CPA qualification or a relevant law degree
5+ years corporate tax experience - this can be either in-house or professional accounting experience
Experience with Indirect taxes, withholding tax and FBT
Tax regimes of overseas regions, especially the UK and US is highly regarded but not essential
A technical coding background is also advantageous but not required
