Apply your talent where it counts as a Communications Manager in our BAE Systems Maritime Australia team based in Osborne, South Australia.

About the Opportunity
The Communications Manager is responsible for providing strategic external communications advice, planning and execution for BAE Systems Maritime Australia and its programs.
Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager – Maritime Australia you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide advice, leadership and assistance in the execution of external communications programs to:

  • protect and enhance company reputation;
  • communicate the progress of the Hunter Class Frigate Program; and
  • deliver on our strategy.

In more specific terms, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the BAE Systems Maritime Australia external communication strategy
  • Lead the delivery of external communications outputs for Hunter program milestones
  • Provide strategic communications advice and coaching to senior leaders and employees on external communication matters
  • Monitor and research issues and trends within the business which may have an impact on the company's reputation and devise communication strategies to help mitigate the risk
  • Develop and agree key messages and public positions on key issues in consultation with senior management
  • Develop creative, compelling and engaging content for a variety of traditional and digital external communication channels, including speech writing

About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Significant experience in a communications role in a major corporate, government or industrial environment coupled with a relevant communications degree
  • Relevant experience in issues and crisis management
  • Experience in managing a communications function
  • Relevant experience in advising senior leaders on external communication matters
  • Strong understanding of Government Relations
