Nickel West will soon become the world’s largest producer of Nickel Sulphate, a key ingredient in lithium-ion batteries. As the world’s largest producer of nickel briquettes and nickel powder, Nickel West is leading the new-energy revolution in Western Australia. Nickel West is a fully integrated mine-to-market business. Our culture is rich with technical know-how, highly efficient and focused on innovation. The business employs over 2500 people from five operations across Western Australia comprising of nickel underground and open-cut mines, concentrators, a smelter and a refinery. We also have plans to expand our operations with new mines in the northern Goldfields and a large nickel sulphate plant in Kwinana.
This role will work as part of a dynamic team with a strong health and wellness focus, be enthusiastic, with a passion to make a difference in the Health and Safety of others as well as driving the right behaviors through coaching and motivating people to achieve outcomes and influencing change.As the health specialist you will have the opportunity for establishing professional and supportive health promotion and Injury and Illness case management in accordance with internal guidelines as established by Nickel West Health & Hygiene and compliance with legislative requirements and regulations. Your ability to effectively influence, communicate and engage others to build understanding, buy-in and commitment will be the foundation for success. This opportunity will allow you to demonstrate your skills and experience as a health professional working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, vendors and health providers. To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
- Strong health background likely to be tertiary qualified in Allied Health discipline such as Exercise Physiologist, Occupational Therapy, other Health discipline with clinical experience
- Experience in a health related discipline with strong injury and illness case management , health assessment & clinical interpretation skills
- 3-5 years’ experience in occupational health delivery in mining or similar industry will be highly regarded
- AHPRA registration or member of organizational governing body is desirable.
