The Infrastructure and Place division is in the process of delivering an ambitious and once-in-a generation multi-billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. The Infrastructure and Project Finance (IPF) team is an internal centre of excellence, and is in the business of providing high value leadership and advice on funding, financing and strategic matters across Infrastructure and Place’s (IP) portfolio. The IPF executes the IP Development vision by leading, driving and advising on innovative high-profile high-risk infrastructure and precinct projects.

The opportunity

We have two senior positions for Infrastructure and Project Finance Leads. Reporting to the Director Infrastructure Projects and Finance, you will be responsible for developing and managing a variety of high value Infrastructure and Finance projects and for operational improvements to the Branch to deliver enhanced outcomes for the Branch, our stakeholders, transport customers and communities.

Being a proponent within the Leadership Group, key to your success will be to ensure Infrastructure and Project Finance adopts an effective and consistent approach to achieving commercial outcomes for high value, complex programs across the cluster, in partnership with executive and other senior stakeholders.

About you

We are looking for natural leaders to join our high performing team to drive various fit for purpose, innovative initiatives. As this role is both externally and internally facing, you will have experience in developing strong relationships at a senior level to drive commercial thinking and provide enhanced capability. You will have a demonstrated ability to manage complex transaction analysis and execution, including the development of financial models, coordination of information flow across the entire lifecycle. Knowledge of market developments in PPP and other contract forms appropriate for complex programs, skilled in identifying and sharing best practice will be required.

You are a strong collaborator, adaptable, pro-active and not afraid of getting involved to produce the required outcomes. You will be tertiary qualified perhaps with a combined law degree, with previous coverage across economics, finance and commerce. You will also have relevant leadership and project experience.

Key Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of multi-disciplinary specialists facilitate their ongoing professional development, maximise on their performance to deliver diverse and complex operational services.
  • Proven track record in implementing cost controls systems and procedures on large infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working within a matrix management structure.
