Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The opportunity

Right now, we have a fantastic Newcastle based opportunity (Fixed term full-time until March 2022) for you to use your DRIVES experience to provide technical and procedural support to internal and external business partners. You will also be required to analyse, investigate and resolve system and application problems and identify anomalies associated with enhancements to the DRIVES system.

  • Providing support to external business partners interfacing with DRIVES by investigating and resolving operational problems, providing support, advice or, where necessary, referring to the responsible area and monitoring progress to resolution
  • Communicating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders ensuring political and interpersonal astuteness at all times.
  • Managing time effectively ensuring a high standard of work delivery within required timeframes.

About you

We are looking for an excellent communicator ideally with DRIVES experience who has the ability to communicate well at all levels, from team members to external customers and a variety of stakeholders across other areas of the business.

You will be reliable, flexible, hardworking, diligent, knowledgeable,a true team player, motivated by team goals and team needs, to ensure that this high performing team maintain the professional service which they provide.

You will be able to expand your skills and knowledge as you analyse and interpret policy and procedures, while interacting with customers and internal stakeholders.

Your superior customer service focus along with your DRIVES experience will provide you with what is needed to excel in this pivotal role which enables you to contribute to the overall safety of the people of NSW.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is USS Grade 6 ($85,474 - $90,949) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
