Based in Townsville or Cairns, QLD and reporting to the Operations Manager, we are looking to appoint an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor , whose primary focus will be to oversee the production, laboratory, depot and fixed plant maintenance operations for the Asphalt Business. The role encompasses the NQ region which includes three depots, two fixed asphalt plants and laboratories, and at times mobile asphalt and foam bitumen plants. The role is responsible for managing a team of manufacturing and laboratory personnel and optimising the performance of the plants while ensuring compliance to safety standards and adherence to Boral's OH&S, Environmental and Quality Standards to ensure they are in line with expectations.
Key to the success in this role will be your proven ability and demonstrated experience in asphalt manufacturing, including experience in asphalt plants and laboratories. With a strong safety and environment focus, you will have a genuine interest in the challenges of maintaining and improving HSE though behavioural leadership, compliance management and continuous improvement. The role includes the ultimate responsibility of managing maintenance upgrades, shutdowns and ongoing maintenance requirements. The successful applicant will also be involved in capital or maintenance improvement projects in a management or supervisory capacity.
The role will require travel across the North Qld region and some night/weekend works.
Relevant Engineering or Trade qualifications in related disciplines, along with strong people and communication skills will be highly regarded.
