About the role

We are seeking a highly-motivated Coal Quality Specialist Geometallurgist to join our high performing team in Brisbane. Reporting to the Superintendent Resource Geology, the role will be responsible for providing geometallurgical monitoring, testing, analysis and reconciliation, predictive modelling, QAQC, mentoring, upskilling, training, and support to the Geoscience Function and sites.

The role requires a focus on continuous improvement and creating and managing a clear vision and purpose incorporating business value, strategic thinking, and clarity of decision making, technical excellence, and stakeholder management. In addition to technical leadership, you will provide the skills, knowledge and an environment to stimulate strategic thinking and problem solving. Providing you with exposure to all levels of the organisation, this role will see you develop influential relationships with multiple functions and stakeholders.

You will be required to work directly with operations and Planning and Technical professionals in order to ensure the right information is collected and analyses at the right time to support business decisions. You will also have access to excellent career opportunities as this role will provide exposure tothe entire value chain through interaction with geoscience, resource engineering, projects, operations and marketing, and will enable you to demonstrate technical excellence and strategic thinking skills in a corporate environment.

About you

Tertiary qualifications in geoscience, mineral processing, metallurgy or a related tertiary discipline are desirable, as well as exploration, operational, and coal processing experience. You will have strong analytical and technical skills and your ability to deliver and communicate technically robust outcomes and opportunities will be very strong. Stakeholder engagement skills are a must, allowing you to build relationships across the business and to communicate with multiple disciplines at all levels.

You will be able to engage with cross functional teams in order to achieve business goals, and also have the ability to identify improvement opportunities and see them delivered and manage through change.
