Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The opportunity

Right now we have an opportunity for an experienced Service Strategy, Planning and Design Manager to join our Transport Cyber Defence team. You will be responsible for developing and owning the service strategy for Transport Cyber Defence, ensuring services are meeting customer requirements, are designed appropriately and leading service design and asset lifecycle planning.

The role also holds responsibility for the service portfolio, including planning and governing the pipeline of new services, active services published via a catalogue and the decommissioning of services. This includes service and asset lifecycle planning to optimise purchasing decisions and minimise capacity bottlenecks and capacity related outages.

About you

You are a highly collaborative and consultative professional with demonstrated experience and strong understanding of service integration processes, tools and capabilities required to design and deliver services in a multi-sourced environment.

You demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills and thrive on the challenge of balancing demand for new contemporary services available on the market with the stabilisation and adoption of services.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications - IT Service Management or Architecture certification/s.
  • Broad knowledge of cyber security services, cross-functional architectural elements and service consumption patterns.
  • Demonstrated experiencing developing service strategy and lifecycle plans or equivalent (e.g. blueprints, roadmaps, capacity plans, refresh and upgrade plans).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of service architecture, IT service management and IT asset management disciplines.
  • Knowledge of mature, good practice and contemporary cyber security services and delivery methods.
  • Extensive knowledge/understanding of application lifecycles, project methodologies and IT service management methodologies, frameworks and processes (e.g. ITIL, eSCM, COBIT, etc).

Salary and Benefits

This is a Transport Senior Service Manager (TSSM) role. Salary range: $172,819 – $192,578 (package). Salary to be negotiated with successful candidate.
