The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, Operations & Service Delivery, the Senior Manager Cloud & On-Premise Infrastructure is a key leadership position and will be responsible for guiding an industry-leading team to achieve strategic goals, providing direction and motivating members, creating an atmosphere of trust, leveraging diverse views, coaching team members and encouraging improvement and innovation.

  • Develop and maintain an infrastructure & cloud roadmap that supports “best of breed” & “best value” technology solutions to enable our digital capability and address current legacy systems.

  • Constantly challenge the status quo, be open to new technologies & new ideas.

  • Understand, manage and work collaboratively with service partners to ensure maximum value is being realised.

  • Ensure system designs are architected in a robust manner and can be easily supported in an operationalcontext.

  • Constantly drive opportunities to minimise manual effort, e.g. automation of testing & deployment, transformation to cloud services etc.

  • Develop and manage a team of people with relevant infrastructure and cloud technical skills across a broad range of disciplines.

  • Develop performance objectives for the team and individuals – track & communicate accordingly in line with the established performance guidelines.

  • Maintain a strong partnership with the extended corporate IT teams to achieve better efficiencies and alignment across the group.

  • Maintain and manage a strong partnership with Cloud and infrastructure support vendors.

  • Set and manage Cloud and On-Premise Infrastructure Opex budget.

  • Compile proposals and Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs) for initiatives.

  • Ensure projects are implemented within the agreed constraints of schedule, user expectations and cost.

  • Provision of staff performance (and development) plans which contain SMART objectives.

  • Communicate with and manage the expectations of stakeholders at all levels of the business.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience and high performance in maintaining and supporting enterprise based Cloud and On-Premise infrastructure in a large scale, complex and distributed business environment.

  • Ability to lead and inspire a large team in a fast-paced, agile environment.

  • Demonstrated understanding of agile and lean project delivery models.

  • Strong experience with cyber security, systems & data compliance.
  • Strong understanding of CICD processes.
  • AWS / Azure / GCP Certifications highly desirable.
  • Experienced in the creation and maintenance of standards for product design, implementation and management.
  • Experience in liaising with external service providers to deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
  • Extensive technical background, aptitude & passion.
