Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.
Over the next 40 years, Sydney’s population is projected to swell to over 12 million residents and regional NSW will accommodate an extra 700,000 people. Transport for NSW is delivering an unprecedented $72.2b investment into a truly game changing Future Transport strategy which will bring together several modes and cutting edge technologies to deliver satisfaction and safety for our customers while supporting a rapidly growing economy.
The Customer Strategy and Technology team within Transport leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.
The Senior Manager Architecture (Advice and Assurance) is responsible for leading and managing a team in the provision of advice and assurance service management within the branch, including activity scope and delivery management; monitoring and reporting of advice, reviews, and assurance activity; and managing the various governance services and reporting.
What you will be involved in
The successful applicant will lead the management of the ongoing effective and efficient operation of CT/OT technology governance services for TfNSW, including initiating and managing various governance bodies as required. Other key accountabilities include:
- Engaging with CT/OT governance across the cluster to ensure CST maintains sight and influence into cluster-wide CT/OT strategic architecture planning.
- Ensuring the efficient management of the EA advice, reviews, and assurance services, including work take-on, prioritisation, and tasking or monitoring/reporting of team outputs.
- Promoting customer and business outcomes as part of the product development process and translate business practices and processes into architecture to enable delivery of appropriate solutions.
- Providing expert advice in the management, monitoring, and reporting of the portfolio of EA advice and assurance activities ensuring application of appropriate TfNSW delivery and governance processes as required.
- Providing SME advice and guidance for the use of industry-standard architectural and Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) delivery methods and modelling standards within the architectural domain.
To ensure success in this role, you’ll have extensive industry experience in a similar role within large-scale technology delivery programs. You will have a well-developed understanding of The Open Group Architecture Framework v9.2 (TOGAF v9.2) and Archimate v3.01, as well as a demonstrated knowledge of key OT frameworks such as ISA95 and ISA99.
You’ll enjoy acting as a thought leader, remaining abreast of current and emerging planning issues and trends, including domestic and international best practice, innovative approaches and opportunities to support the achievements of the business objectives.
Ideally you’ll be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline and/or have extensive relevant industry experience.
