Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

About the Team

The Security Crisis and Emergency Management branch provides expertise in security, crisis and emergency management across Transport for NSW. It is focussed on building a capability for Transport to prepare for, respond to and recover from significant emergency and crisis events.

The branch is part of the Safety, Environment and Regulation Division.

The opportunity

This position is a fixed term opportunity ending in November 2021, with the potential to become permanent.

The Manager Crisis Management is an excellent opportunity to lead and drive continuous improvement of Crisis and Incident Management Strategies, Plans and Procedures across Transport for NSW.

The role is responsible for ensuring preparedness and response to incidents and ensure they are aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements. The position works across the Transport for NSW business to develop, exercise and monitor plans to ensure we can respond in the event of a crisis or a specific emergency incident.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have experience in the Development and Delivery of Crisis and Incident Management Frameworks in a Government Department or Private Sector.

You will have had exposure to Incident Response Planning, Response and Recovery Protocols and Crisis and Incident Response Strategy Management.

Your ability to Research, Analyse and Evaluate Crisis and Incident Programs as well as undertake Crisis Management Reporting is pivotal to the role.

Strong Leadership coupled with the ability to Build Relationships and Liaise with Key Stakeholders is critical as you guide the organisation through ISO standard requirements and the AIIMS framework. This role will be responsible for a small team of 2 direct reports.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is Transport Service Grade 9 Award ($135,898 - $152,204 ) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
