The role

As a Senior Engineer you are responsible for ensuring continuous innovation and development of Iress Products from inception to deployment and production support. You will work as an integral part of creative and motivated teams to ensure high quality benchmarks are met for deliveries of innovative products for global markets.

Although not essential, this position would benefit from someone with a background in Visual Design. An Engineer who can take a given wireframe, then utilise an established design system and its patterns to build out the UI.

What you will be doing

  • Collaborate with team members to design simple and intuitive user journeys

  • Championing your passion for all things front end!

  • Review and analyse business requirements, develop product and platform solutions to extend and enhance Iress product offering

  • Provide technical leadership, motivating and coaching of junior team members

  • Actively contribute to the wider engineering team by facilitating and participating in knowledge sharing ceremonies, such as technical workshops, brown bags, hackathons etc

  • Develop high quality automation tests to improve test coverage, product quality and time to market

  • Assist in identifying product and process weaknesses and possible refinements in an environment of continual evolution and improvement.

  • Analyze system and production defects, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis

  • Keep up to date with technical trends, tools and methodologies, undertake research as required

What you will need

  • Advanced React knowledge using Typescript

  • Broad knowledge of semantic HTML

  • Strong styling skills (CSS, Sass, CSS-in-JS)

  • A progressive approach to testing. We use Jest (Unit) and Cypress (e2e)

  • An in-depth understanding of CI/CD

  • Demonstrable collaboration skills gained in developing user interfaces

  • An opinionated approach to User Experience

  • Working knowledge of Accessibility practices

  • Experience working in Agile process and result-oriented culture

  • Assume responsibility – take personal ownership of work and be able to work autonomously
