|Job Type:||Full Time|
Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.
Atlassian’s future lies in the cloud, for our customers, users and ecosystem. In this future lies enormous potential to increase the impact of every Atlassian cloud engineer, from those who work on our internal platforms, to those who strive to improve the experiences of our fanatical end-users. Firstly, we need to empower our own engineering teams, and enable them to do the best work of their lives.
The Production Engineering team looks after the infrastructure that underpins Atlassian’s company strategy to deliver a suite of cloud products that meets the needs from the smallest startups to the largest enterprise. We’re all-in on cloud, and our infrastructure & associated tools have never been more important to Atlassian’s success. We're responsible for delivering a secure, compliant and reliable set of tools and infrastructure offerings, that allow other development teams to build upon us with confidence, and develops the trust required by customers to allow Atlassian to host its mission-critical data.
As a Product Manager for the Production Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the foundations that underpin the success of our cloud business, as we pioneer the future of software development and deployment. You will craft the high-impact platform capabilities that will directly improve the lives of every single Atlassian R&D cloud engineer, and will ultimately impact thousands of customers including some of the leaders in their industries, now and for the next decade.
More about you
You love delivering outstanding products and capabilities for customers. You have prior success setting product vision and strategy and launching excellent features & products. You can set clear goals, make decisions, and communicate crisply to your team, to leaders across Atlassian, and to our customers & partners. You can map an organisation’s strategy directly to a team’s roadmap, and clearly ladder their results back into that strategy. You’re motivated by deeply understanding our end-users' frustrations, and relish the challenge of translating deep technical challenges into business and customer value propositions.
You’ve got charisma in spades: you’re social and adept at building relationships across product lines and functional groups to make sure everyone is aligned. Previous experience in cloud platform or infrastructure environments is a plus.
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- Experience at a SaaS company, ideally working on platform infrastructure
- True obsession for your customers – you go out of your way to talk to customers and understand their problems because it’s what gets you out of bed in the morning
- Good instincts matched with deep analytical thinking. You're comfortable defining and driving key business and success metrics
- A passion for wading into the complicated day-to-day decisions to help your engineering team ship impactful capabilities
- A track record of building relationships and influencing without authority at all levels of the organisation.
It's great, but not required, if you have:
- 3+ years of prior product management experience
- Familiarity with distributed systems and microservice architectures
- Computer science or a related technical degree, or prior experience as a software engineer
