  • Ideally suited to a recent Electrical Engineering graduate keen to enter the energy industry
  • Assist with an EMS technological upgrades and capital projects

About the role

Our EMS Support Officers play a key support role in the delivery of capital works programs and in the execution of urgent resourcing and technical solutions for Powerlink's Energy Management System (EMS) and System Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).

In this hands-on role, you will maintain the Control System EMS models and displays so that our Network Controllers have up-to-date, real time information to make decisions and perform remote control and operations of High Voltage Equipment across Queensland.

Join us in the midst of an EMS technological upgrade as we pave the way for the future of the energy sector. You will play a part in supporting the introduction and adoption of new technologies and industry best practices in High Voltage (HV) energy management operations and data analysis.

About you

You have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a customer-focused approach. With a genuine interest in control systems, you get excited about performing modelling and display work that others might describe as routine or even mundane.

Ideally, you will also have exposure to SCADA data communication technologies such as DNP3, Conitel, ICCP, serial and IP-based methods, as well as Microsoft Office suite.

We think this role would suit a recent Electrical Engineering graduate with a keen interest in entering the industry. At a minimum you will need tertiary qualification/s in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Systems Engineering.

Whilst this is an entry level role, it would be advantageous if you had knowledge of Power Systems Operations or EMS operations, power transmission network operations, and/or distribution and control centre practices.
