Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division engages with our customers and communities. We connect regional NSW with safe and tailored transport choices, and contribute to strong economic growth and sustainability across the state.

The Opportunity

Right now, we are looking for a Manager Cabinet and Government Services on a permanent basis to join the Office of The Deputy Secretary. As the Manager Cabinet and Government Services, you are responsible for providing management of Cabinet, Ministerial and Government Services products for the division, ensuring high quality, consistent and timely advice and responses to matters.

You will be responsible for the development, implementation and consistent overview of Government Services strategic projects and continuous improvement for the division. You will manage responses for complex requests across the division, including Cabinet Submissions, FIC, GIPA, coordination of Parliamentary Inquiries, Secretary and Minister Office requests and Budget Estimates.

You will manage workload across the team; ensuring KPI’s are consistently achieved across the team; establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders; quality assurance and review of parliamentary material.

About you

To be successful in this role you will hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience in management of parliamentary, ministerial and coordinating tasks in a large and complex government department. You will have experience working in a demanding environment of competing priorities and will have the ability to plan, prioritise and organise in order to meet tight deadlines and deliver tasks. Experience with parliamentary document systems is highly desirable as well as the ability to understand, analyse and prepare the suite of Government Services products and content. You will be a problem solver with the ability to critically analyse complex information.

Most importantly, you are team player who has exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders to approach various challenges as they arise. Your resilience will see you thrive in an ever-changing politically sensitive landscape.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is Transport Grade 9 ($135,898 - $152,404) per annum plus superannuation
