What do we do ?

Reporting to the Managed Services Manager ANZ as the SME of all Network and Security matters.

  • Architecture and design of network solutions

Design (tactical, solution) and architect (strategic, roadmap) network solutions for managed services - green/brownfield

  • Establish and maintain security practice throughout managed services (platforms) - horizontally across networks, hypervisors, operating systems and 3rd party (and NetApp) software

What are the deliverables?

Network :

  • Develop strategic roadmap and standardisation of network architecture across MS accounts
  • Provide network architecture governance throughout the implementation and transition phases of new solutions deployment
  • Define, document and enforce network standards
  • Provide pragmatic network architecture and design guidance that balance business benefit and risks
  • Come up with tactical network design high and detailed level network solution design for new and existing
  • Managed Services accounts, customising where necessary to suit customer and internal business requirements
  • Provide costing and pricing as necessary for network solutions
  • Assist implementation and operational teams with implementation planning, deployment support, lifecycle and maintenance strategy

Security :

  • Define, document and enforce security policies and product/configuration standards for MS platforms and technologies (networking, OS, 3rd party software)
  • Provide pragmatic security guidance that balances business benefit and risks
  • Conduct risk assessments, security reviews and audits and recommend and develop risk remediation and mitigation strategies
  • Plan, design, assist and guide implementation and operation of security projects – collaborate with MS operational teams and enable their security implementation and monitoring capabilities
  • Provide costing and pricing for security solutions as necessary experience with and understanding of compliance requirements and iSMS, ISO 27001, SOC1,2, IRAP

What does a successful candidate look like ?

  • Must have architecture, design and deployment experience with multi-vendor network hardware and software (few of the following brands: Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Mellanox, Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5)
  • 5+ years of experience as a Network Architect, prior to that/combined with 5+ years of network engineering and customer support experience
  • Strong expertise in the creation of network architecture, strategy, blueprints, and roadmaps
  • Strong expertise in network design and implementation, troubleshooting, hardware configuration and performance tuning
  • Data centre and disaster recovery experience
  • Cloud networking experience
  • Thorough understanding of networking technologies, including administration of enterprise routers, switches, firewalls and load-balancers
  • Expertise with various routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Vendor agnostic approach and capability
  • Vendor certified and can show a track record of personal development, as well as keeping up to date with emerging technologies and trends
  • Tertiary qualifications in ICT, Engineering and/or equivalent experience

Security technical skills

  • Deep security knowledge of a few of the following domains (Network Security, Security operations, Application/Software/OS Security, Security Assessment and Testing, Asset Security, Identity Access)
  • Technical experience in general Information Security practices, TCP/IP networking and routing fundamentals, Windows/Linux system administration, network troubleshooting, intrusion detection/prevention
  • Experience with endpoint and network security solutions
  • Expertise with network infrastructure and security technologies such as NAC, LAN, WAN, Wireless, VPN, IDS/IPS, Firewall in a data centre environment
  • Experience working with common information security standards, such as: ISO 27001/27002, NIST, PCI DSS; understanding of , ITIL, COBIT
  • Vendor certified and can show a track record of personal development, as well as keeping up to date with emerging technologies and trends
  • TOGAF trained and/or certification
  • Vendor agnostic approach and capabilities
