About the Role


Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, as a Specialist Mine Scheduling you will be engaged in providing design, scheduling and execution direction around the +1 to 12 week time frame to our Peak Downs Operation.

This role will provide you opportunity to gain experience in many aspects of Mine Planning; with an initial focus on Truck/Shovel Prestrip design and scheduling.

Use your already solid mine planning skills and experience in this busy and challenging short-term mine planning role to develop effective working relationships with the operational and medium-term planning teams, in order to ensure the efficient execution of your plans and schedules.

This is a great opportunity to hone your mine planning skills as you gain exposure to a variety of equipment and mine geology whilst seeing the results of work as your pit is developed. You will also have access to a supportive, inclusive and results-oriented leadership team.

The position is based at Peak Downs Mine with a roster of 8/6 and offers a choice of flexible travel arrangements.

Your responsibilities:

  • Prepare & communicate Truck & Shovel designs and schedules;
  • Develop and follow the Production Planning standards and processes;
  • Participate in the investigation of reported events & training for Production Planning
  • Identify and implement Production Planning improvement initiatives;
  • Develop the design for formulation of the budget;
  • Build cross-functional relationship with the Operational sub-functions and interact extensively with the Planning sub-functions.

About You


As the successful candidate, you will have a tertiary education in Engineering and previous experience working at a Coal Mining operation.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, allowing you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels.

A strong working knowledge of Vulcan, XACT, Microsoft Office, 3d Dig software packages are essential.
